Sur la route du Cap Vert
Albacore avance bien, alors que le vent portant dépasse tout juste vingt deux noeuds, notre vitesse avoisine souvent les huit noeuds. Nous sommes sans doute aussi sous l’influence du courant favorable décrit sur les cartes.
Il est bientôt six heure du matin, encore deux heures de quart sur la route du Cap Vert.
Mais avant de découvrir un nouvel horizon, un petit retour en arrière s’impose.
Après avoir quitté la Graciosa (clic sur le lien), nous avons ensuite longé la cote Est de Lanzarote et, en deux étapes, nous avons rejoint le sud de l’île. 
La traversée vers Tenerife (clic sur le lien), réalisée sur vingt quatre heure, s’est faite sans difficulté et nous avons atterri à la marina de Santa Cruz.
Durant cette petite halte, nous avons eu la chance de pouvoir louer une voiture et ainsi pu parcourir le parc national d’El Teide et ses décors grandioses. Cette île vaste, minérale et quelque peu mystérieuse dégage une énergie tantôt bouillonnante ou tantôt silencieuse.
Nous avons pris ensuite la mer pour rejoindre l’ile de La Gomera et sa ville principale de San Sébastian. Là encore, un grand plaisir de découvrir une terre chaleureuse et vivante comme ses habitants. C’est une fois encore par des routes très sinueuses que nous avons parcouru cette terre ocre et souvent verdoyante. Terres de contraste et plages de sables noirs, vallées enclavées par des falaises abruptes, villages aux maisons colorées sont caractéristiques de La Gomera (clic sur le lien).
Nous aurions bien voulu y passer plus de temps, pour aussi prendre un peu de repos, mais la météo en a décidé autrement, et nous avons dû saisir la fenêtre pour nous lancer dans une longue navigation vers le Cap Vert.
Depuis trois jours maintenant, nous naviguons sur une mer formée qui met à mal notre estomac. Mais chaque jour un peu plus nous nous rapprochons de notre nouvelle destination, l’île Cap Verdienne de Sal.

On the road to Cape Verde
Albacore is progressing well, while the downwind just exceeds twenty-two knots, our speed is often around eight knots. We are undoubtedly also under the influence of the favorable current described on the maps.
It’s almost six in the morning, still two hours to go on the road to Cape Verde.
But before discovering a new horizon, a little step back in time is necessary.
After leaving Graciosa (click on the link), we then followed the east coast of Lanzarote and, in two stages, we reached the south of the island.
The crossing to Tenerife (click on the link), completed over twenty-four hours, was done without difficulty and we landed at the Santa Cruz marina.
During this short stop, we were lucky enough to be able to rent a car and thus be able to explore the El Teide National Park and its grandiose scenery. This vast, mineral and somewhat mysterious island exudes an energy that is sometimes bubbling or sometimes silent.
We then took to the sea to reach the island of La Gomera and its main town of San Sebastian. Here again, a great pleasure to discover a warm and lively land like its inhabitants. It was once again via very winding roads that we traveled through this ocher and often green land. Lands of contrast and black sand beaches, valleys enclosed by steep cliffs, villages with colorful houses are characteristic of La Gomera (click on the link).
We would have liked to spend more time there, to also take a little rest, but the weather decided otherwise, and we had to seize the window to embark on a long navigation towards Cape Verde.
For three days now, we have been sailing in heavy seas which are taking its toll on our stomachs. But every day we get a little closer to our new destination, the Cape Verdean island of Sal.
